Realizou-se, no passado dia 23 de setembro, o Seminário Final do projeto SNOVPROC, com o título “Desmistificando o significado e importância da inovação social”. Ao reunir gestores de políticas públicas, investigadores da academia e profissionais da área, o seminário representou uma oportunidade para fomentar o diálogo, trocar opiniões, aprofundar conhecimentos, encontrar sinergias e aprender com a experiência de inovadores sociais, ajudando a desmistificar o que é inovação social.

Neste seminário, para além de terem sido apresentados os principais resultados do projeto, foram, ainda, apresentadas as seguintes comunicações:

SINOVPROC researcher Jorge Cunha delivered the talk "Universities’ contributions to social innovation", at the 2nd Workshop organised by the Social Innovation & Technology Network.

SINOVPROC researchers, Jorge Cunha, Madalena Araújo, Wellington Alves and Carla Ferreira, attended the 1st Workshop organised by the Social Innovation & Technology Network. The topic under discussion in this workshop was "Social Technology and Social Innovation: Basis for a new technological framework. The talk was delivered by Felipe Addor, from NIDES - Interdisciplinary Center for Social Development, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.


Lisbon, Portugal, November 4th, 2019

SINOVPROC researchers, Jorge Cunha and Wellington Alves, attended the 1st meeting of the Social Innovation & Technology Network hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. The meeting aimed to build up an international network to be reference on performing researches addressing global social challenges. At the event, researchers from Brazil, India, Israel and Portugal discussed possible scientific cooperation on this topic, as well direction for future works and events.

Braga, Portugal, October 24th to 25th, 2019

SINOVPROC research team was present at 8th International Conference on Social Responsibility, Ethics, and Sustainable Business, held in Braga – Portugal. The conference aimed to discuss recent insights on socially responsible practices in the non-and for-profit sector. At the conference, the researchers Jorge Cunha, Carla Ferreira and Wellington Alves presented the following papers:

• Towards a direct mechanism for exerting consumer influence on corporate social responsibility: learning from a half-century of ethical consumerism and boycotts.

• Role of universities in the social innovation model: contribution for a systematic literature review.

• An investigation of existing social impact measures for social innovation.



Porto, Portugal: June 26th to 28th, 2019

Jorge Cunha, principal investigator of the SINOVPROC project attended the 4th Regional Helix Conference in Porto. The conference focused on topics related to the sustainability of entrepreneurial ecosystems. At the conference, the work entitled as "Social entrepreneurship as a way to upscale social innovation practices" was presented.
